Hello again everyone! I know I've been asking a lot lately! But that's why we're all here eh? Share experience and whatnot! Anyways here's the deal! I'm getting more and more traffic, and my alexa ranking has been going down by 100 k daily! So i'm quite happy! My website stats: Niche: Nothing in general i'm an entertainer! Demographics: 55% Male About 100% : 14-30 years old. Mostly Canadian/American traffic (85% canadian, 15% american) 700 000 page views daily, 75 000 unique monthly visitors. I've been refused by casale, probably because of my bad Alexa Rank ( I'm at 800 000 ) atm. Now I have two small questions. For such a website, which network would benefit me more? (CPM networks) And what is RTBs? Regards unsealed.
I am currently with adsense but the CPC rate varies too much so i have great days and "not so great" days. I mean it's good money but we're trying to see if we can get a steady 1 RPM instead of a variant RPM. With Adsense our overall numbers look decent, we have very good days on which we get 2 RPM but sad days where we get very low RPM so we thought that CPM could help us by assuring us a steady revenu. As for adbrite they seem to pay very low according to most people. So we haven't installed their code on our website yet. Never heard of Chitika before are they high paying? We're looking for a steady ~ 1$ CPM.
Didn't you just ask the same question here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2342026 You wont earn much with banner cpm's - you need interstitial ad's - which suck or you need layer ad's for decent CPM - they have to be intrusive for you to earn cash.
700k pageviews daily and 70k unqiue per month? sounds a little fishy. What the reason for the high pageview low unqiue ratio? What eCPM are you getting from google adsense?
RTB's might equal rotating banners - so you can decide which ones to show based on the value, for instance if one publisher can't offer more than the other in value per click - then your chosen alternative will be shown. Yeah 2k visits for 70k Page views... that's an average of 35 pages a visit. Social sites like Facbook and Twitter keep users engaged for prolonged periods - so I'd be interested in Knowing also. Maybe a forum? Most CPM's that have high paying CPM rates - pay per unique visitor.
Well, If I told you I'd have to kill you! =) Jokes aside, I'm not here to debate why my website is the way it is. I just want some advice. Yes people actually stay on a lot of pages per visits. They fall in our webs and get stuck for a while! But yeah about those RTBs, how do they work? And how can i set it up. Let's say i had multiple networks, (Adsense, valueclick, adbrite) etc.
Depends who you go with, I know clicksor has an option when you set up the ad's - you can define an alternate source of ad's. Really depends on who you are with - but most I presume offer the format to you... when you set up the ad's you can choose the alternate ad' if there's none available to show your visitor. While others have a set price - where if the ad's aren't sold for the value that you want - then you can enforce the alternate ad's.
There was a reason why i asked, if you aint planning on sharing any info, then its hard to to help you. With that ratio is will be hard to get 100% fill on CPM ads In most cases when you use adsense and the income sucks, it usually means you got bad traffic or/and bad placements. thsadmin: RTBs is like a stock exchange.. And clicksor is not a good platform for this. You can read more about RTBs at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_Bidding
Thanks a lot chrda! I will try to read about this and implement it on our website. Regards, unsealed.
Argh - I was thinking that it was Rotating Banners!! Which made sense because it's a common thing for CPM's and increasing your revenue. Still that's a good option to rotate alternate banners.
What kind of info are you looking for? I can provide any non-sensitive info about our website. As for statistics I can post logs from analytics, awstats and various others If it helps! Thanks a lot for your help guys! Regards, Unsealed
