I prefer the Dell Latitude because of the excellent support. 3 year year warranty included, they will come right to your home and fix your latitude. Not that it will likely break any time soon. I bought an Dell inspiron in 2002 and it still runs great today.

If you want to use it 6 hours a day, then it should be heavy duty laptop, I uses my laptop almost 5-7 or even more a day, it's IBM Thinkpad Lenovo T61 7300 it's a really heavy duty laptop, and it's battery run time is about 3 and half hour for normal usage, but it has 3 main problems, it's speakers are not that loud, the brightenees of the screen isn't that hight and it's look because it's heavy duty as I said, it would coast you about ~1300$

I prefer Dell and Lenovo as the best one with a quality service at my city. You must go for a laptop of the company that gives a quality service at your city. All the laptops are good what matters is the service you get when laptop irritates you.

    HP sucks, trust me...

The Dell Vostro is pretty good. Asus, Sony Vaioi, no complaints on those either.

Acer if you like...just not HP!

Oh and I love the Toshiba Satellite ones too ;)
