Which is the best book for PHP programming??

I am looking forward to learn PHP. So which book is the best for learning from the basics. It would be better if it is not an ebook.

Depends on what your normal learning curve is. I first picked up PHP & MySQL for dummies, which teaches both, but some of it you'll have to actually experiment with yourself to figure out what the guy is describing.

PHP and MySQL Web Development by Luke Welling, is the good one.

 

Try "Head First" Php Books, It has very simple words to understand.

 

I also bought PHP & MySQL for dummies book, just about everything in it I already had learned on the internet though so the book turned out a little useless for me...

 

just type in tzag into google and go through the tutorials.

 

I learned on php and mysql for dynamic web sites by Larry Ullman. Second ed. discusses php 5 and mysql 4.1, and can be purchased on Amazon used for 3 bucks. Its a great book!

 

Any of O'reilly's books. They're well written and in my opinion the best. All programming languages are just about covered and the pricing is very competitive.

 

PHP 5 Programming by Wrox is the best book for PHP.

I have looked over many PHP and MySQL books. My favorite is Beginning PHP and MySQL: From Novice to Professional by W. Jason Gilmore.

 

but theres a lot of many great authors about PHP and MySQL.
