For ranking and professional credibility choose self-hosted Wordpress and get a keyword optimized domain name without a doubt. You can get great results with Blogger but rankings tend to be temporary and if you are sending traffic back to your cloaked blogger site it doesn't really give a professional impression when they get there. Hosting is cheap 1c for 30 days and under $4 per month with HostGator, (Google "1 penny hostgator offer") and a NameCheap domain name is a few bucks.

Wordpress is so easy to customise and there are many hundreds of free themes and plugins for the SEO, monetization and customisation side. There are also thousands of YouTube videos to tell you how to do just about anything you need to know. Setting up a business for under $4 and then less than $4 per month is great isn't it? :)

Depends on hosting (if you self host the blog or want it for free). If you want it for free, blogger is the best one to go with. In case you wish to self host, you may go with wordpress.

Wordpress would be the good starter for you.

There are lots of themes/framework themes that you can customize for your blog. You can install themes that make your blog unique.

There are lots of plugins where you can simply search and install and you can get facebook sharing button in a second.

As andreasup said, Blogger is a good blogging platform, but I personally prefer Wordpress too.

My vote definitely goes to wordpress. It is easy to use, it is flexible, it is self-hosted so you have complete control over it. Plus Google likes wordpress, and I do actually think you get better search engine results over the long term.

Self hosted wordpress, blogger for starters. Blogger is very use to use and google promptly approves adsense on blogger but it has its shortcomings , so on the long run wordpress.
