first of all, I am lazy to pm you. secondly, my opinion isn't worth much, but here it is anyway: you should start with adsense if you are just starting out. its really simple to implement. then you can look into other forms of ads like Text Link Ads, Amazon, etc. try to mix them around so that visitors don't get blind to them. anyway, you shouldn't use too much adsense, heard that the cpc is lower for the 2nd and 3rd ad block, another reason why you shouldn't rely entirely on adsense
Adsense, Bidvertiser, Yahoo (if you can get accepted) are good advertising networks. However you should also check out Adsung or text-link-ads and even adbrite because they are good too.
Bidvertiser? That wouldn't even come into my reckoning - it's a crap service. My preference is AdSense, YPN then AdBrite in that order.
I also think that text-link-ads is a good program. There are also a few other good ones about on the web.
