in terms of payout, image ad usually pay better than text ad. this is due to an image ad taking up the entire ad block for which the advertiser needs to pay more, so your cut is also more. however, text ads generate more CTR than image ad so at the end, you make more moeny with text ads. there are certain sites however where image ad generate more CTR than text ad, you just need to experiment with your site and see which one performs better
WTH are you guys talking about. Every spec of research, and there's mountains of it, that I've ever read, and my personal experience as well, indicates that image ad CTR is horrible compared to text ads. Image ad performance has never come even remotely close to text ads (for me).
