    Which Is More Powerful? Russia Or USA?

    In terms of Weapons, Soldiers, Airforce, etc..

    Weapon Systems? MOAB, FOAB, Tactical Nukes? Man-Power for Military Draft? Fighter Planes, Bombers, AWACS Early Warning Systems, Spy Planes, Mid-air Refueling Planes, and the related infrastructure... airfields, military bases, Naval bases... Attack Helicopters, Transport Helicopters, Air Defense Systems, Missile Defense, anti-satellite missiles?

    Both countries have tones of these kind of weapons... If there's ever gonna be a direct, full-scale war, then no matter where you live, you're going to ***, coz the radiation and heat would fry the Planet...

    Both will be equally dead, both have arsenals of nuclear weapons that can kill the entire world population many times over. MAD Mutually Assured Destruction. There is really no need to consider who is both powerful when both are dead.

    technology keeps getting to higher.. Where are all of these weapons going??? all of the world is preparing for a war.. believe me guys, every country is inventing and buying and selling weapons.. dont you think this is hapening for a reason?

    The best deterrence against war is to prepare for war itself. Look at the Swiss, the Swiss has no army, they are an army. They had enjoyed peace throughout the world wars because they are well prepared and aggressors do not want the casualties associated with attacking a well prepared nation.

    The Swiss certainly have a good system, of compulsory military training. Everyone has to serve for 2 years minimum. After that, they go home with their guns.

    IMO, the Swiss were never attacked for by anyone, coz they were the centre of world finances. The Swiss Banks are still infamous for the secrecy. And they always remained neutral...

    Not really. It's been spared from attacks because of two important reasons.

    1. It's a neutral country. So, no country can invade it. Its neutrality was imposed by the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

    2. It's home to some of the biggest financial institutions in the world. The ultra rich from all over the world have safely deposited their wealth in these banks.

    True neutrality is another good reason but neutrality with the military might to resist the pressure into going with either side is also an important factor.

    yes usa is on the top, but russians were the top. so both are big powers.

    USA is far more powerful than Russia. Russia has gotten a big lift lately with commodity prices. But they are primarily a producer of raw materials.

    The Russian army still has a lot of tanks and troops. However, the Russian Navy has deteriorated significantly.

    Russia could be a hidden powerful country, though it's not seen after the USSR broke.

    the better question would be who has more to lose and who is more afraid of losing it...

    russians are used to living in modest conditions its normal life to them...any luxury depravation for americans is a national disaster with 1.000.000 seeking help from shrinks right away...

    id give russia the advantage simply because they would be less affected by the nuclear hollocaust...

    One small mistake in your argument. If there was a nuclear holocaust, neither USA nor Russia will survive it. Other than that, I agree with your statement. The Russians are used to living in modest living conditions.

    its like comparing M16 vs AK 74

    AK will be the winner at war conditions (dirt, water, etc - reliable) and M16 is for the luxury sniper :D

    Both countries arent small and have loads of nukes, so theres no winner in here.

    That is precisely what I said in my previous post. Here, take a look at this - "If there was a nuclear holocaust, neither USA nor Russia will survive it."

    I was talking about a scenario where nuclear warfare is not used and there are still some people left to live. In that case, Russians can cope with the conditions better than the Americans.

    The Russian Air Force got embarrassed in Georgia. Whether it is lack of upkeep or poor training is not clear to me, but they have much to worry about. They lost between 4 and 20 aircraft including some they should not have used in the manner they did.
