You did not specify the criteria in the fastest development With regard to population growth, it is India. If you consider the economy, it is China
Yes, there is no denial that India is leading in IT, BPO and KPO sectors, but thats just not enough to be the fastest growing economy in the world. Most of the IT jobs, BPO jobs and KPO jobs are based on outsourcing. India's only advantage is being good English speaking professionals. Outsourcing is not a reliable source of income. Again the effects of this growth in IT/BPO sector are limited within a certain group of English speaking elites. This growth is giving an average urban gen-next a happening life but the average youth from rural India (majority of the population) has no advantage. If you take a close look at the stats I've posted you will notice some very alarming figures. China has the biggest population in the world but in the land mass it's bigger than India. so the high population is not as big problem as India. secondly China's annual population growth is only 1.2 where India's population growth is 2.0 and it is when India's life expectancy is less than China's and where infant mortality rate is higher than China. The population growth is totally out of control in India, and government is doing virtually nothing to control it, nothing at all. Indigenous products make a country Economically powerful, but India has little contribution while it comes to inventing and making products. Ofcourse IT industry is booming, but please name a single software that's been developed by any Indian software company and being used worldwide? Wipro, Infosys, TCS all giant corporations but not even a single software of world fame? Now Agriculture, India is supposed to be an agriculture based country but what a shame, we need to import Wheat and Rice to meet the demand and keep the prices under control. From Rice to Sugar to Salt, we need to import everything. 60 years of independence, 2nd largest population, plenty of fertile land, but we still need to import for even our basic food requirement. 60 years of independence, still we generate only 40% of our total electricity needs. IT/BPO like outsourced industries are not enough to makes us largest growing economy. Self sustained agriculture, better utilization of man power, development and progress in rural India is what required here. Dude and it's a long long road down there, miles to go before we say "Yes! India is the fastest growing economy in the world."
I think china still is the fastest developing country... china is one of the biggest exports of products today
I agree. I am also of Indian descent. Mukesh Ambani couldn't give two craps about Indian poverty. Hes too busy building 40 stories high houses from himself and flourishing his 300 servants. Thats why I want Bill to stay on top. Atleast he cares.
Still has to be China. I study business. And there development is simply outstanding. India has potential. But then again so does Mexico and brazil to lesser extents.
Go to Gunangdong or Shenzhen. Those two development areas are amazing. 5 times bigger than any city i have seen.
I have studied both countries. China will dominate the growth of India for many decades to come. There infrastructure and platforms for development are a lot better.
