When it comes to google ranking, would it be better to have 200 backlinks to your site with each being click about 3 times or is it better to have only 6 backlinks with each being clicked 200 times. My question really is, does your google ranking depend more on the number of links or the number of quality links.
Clicks has nothing to to with ranking, so that is no. 1 The rest of the answer is more difficult. Read a bit on PageRank and then read this (its not exact science so do not hit me with wrong numbers, its an example to explain this guy): 3 PR6 pages with 10 outgoing links have 0.6 PR to divide. If your one of those links you get 0.6x8=1.80 for the keyword link to page on your site 50 pages PR1 and 50 pages PR0 all 40 links on the page give 50x0.05 + 50x0 = 1.25 for the keyword link to page on your site So outgoing links on a page, PR (pagerank) and amount of links make one or the other good. There are another 500 factors in this algorithm according to Google, but this is one.
Quality and quantity both are important but always quality is more important. 50Good quality relevant links are better than 1000spam links. So always choose quality backlinks
Maybe you mean quality is more important than quantity? Yes, good quality backlink will give boost in PR. Make some good quality backlink and your PR will increased.
It's better to have fewer links with higher click through rates, not because Google is counting click throughs, but because the likelihood is that your link is on a more powerful page and in a prominent position on that page than if you were to have loads of links with lower CTRs.
I doubt that Google doesn't include clicks in its algorithm. A link that no one uses (clicks on) means that it is on a lousy website. On the other hand, if you have a quality link (on an authority website related to your niche) most chances are that people will click it and then will get to your site...
