I have a small niche video site with original content, still in "beta". I'm ready to upgrade it and launch it, but I'm wondering is it better to keep original content? Or just have a site which allows people to embed YouTube video's etc. but still allows them to comment on the videos at my site. Since the audience is more specialized, the comments will be more refined than YouTube general comments. I figure original content is great for building brand name, etc. YouTube grabber site is easier for getting content on the site, and of course no bandwidth issues. I've seen some sites who allow both, but I really want one or the other.
Interesting. Valid points made on that site, although I don't think "bandwidth is cheap"... But the point over and over is that embedding other people's content still takes traffic away from your own site. I'll probably stick to original content unless I come across any other compelling reason not to.
