Which is better platform for Autism Blogging monetizing FB or Google?

Hey guys, so I am getting ready to start blogging in the Autism and Mental Health niche. I am thinking this niche might be better on FB since it should have easier target reach. On google I would need to do a lot of marketing to get viewers to my blogging site.

What would you guys recommend please?

There are other options such as Medium.com that pay their creators.

Even if you had a self-hosted blog you'd still need facebook and other social media for "reach" so don't think of it as an either/or.

Look carefully at your target market and where they access their information - those are the places you should either be publishing or promoting. Tiktok has some awesome autism & ND creators but they probably reach younger people. If your target market is older people you may need to look elsewhere. Market research, even informal conversations or polls, is really important.

Thanks! One major issue I am foreseeing is the Mental Health Industry is so vast that one can already easily find lots of info and articles on ever imaginable subject so the only "new" thing I will be able to write about are my own personal experiences but only so much material can be written.

So blogging fresh content will be an issue eventually. I am wondering if re-writing or posting excerpts on industry news would be an option please? Lots of people need help and info but simply do not know where or how to get it, this I can people help with by becoming a referral service.

My target Market will be FB and google as those are the two main places people seeking help will look for this.

your target market isn't "Facebook", it's people, a demographic and hopefully they use Facebook. You need to get a better idea of who they are: age, gender, nationality, language, income, education.

You need to assess what you bring to the table. Are you qualified to do peer reviews of studies or meta-analyses of groups of studies? Or are you a better cheerleader bringing info and knowledge?

Even within the autism niche, there are different groups.
    • caregivers for the profoundly disabled, like a friend of mine whose son will always be institutionalised, or a colleague whose daughter needs special education.
    • supporters for the high functioning, like my own kids and their partners.
    • high functioning individuals who have self-diagnosed or been diagnosed as adults.
    • high functioning individuals who want to know more about having kids and want to know about inheritable risks.
    • providers looking to make their services more autism friendly.
What you publish will differ depending on the target market, the platform, and the purpose.

This account specialises in quick messages to inspire, motivate - your posts don't have to be text-heavy.

As a caregiver myself of a High functioning young adult, I would be better suited to provide knowledge and info and lead people to resources they need, that is what I am foreseeing blogging or posting about.

I am the founder of a private fb group for caregivers where there are 1800+ members helping each other every day but I do not want to monetize in that group. I know what caregivers/parents of Autistic kids/adults need help with which is knowing which services are available to them, where to apply, how to apply e.t.c. this is how I can help people over the entire net. Plus being the father of an Autistic adult I can give advice and info on my own experiences which might be of help to some with similar situations.

So my question is would my idea of having a blogging site for monetizing purposes be a worthwhile venture for me please and if yes, far as providing on-going "fresh" content, what can I do?
