i think oracle is the best data base if u can work on it u can work on any other data base , ms access is for the just small data bases with no security but oracle offers highest level of security.
Mysql :Rocks!! ORACLE : Its mostly a question of opinion for Oracle , but its ok for companies that have deep pockets....oh yeah and alot of ressources... MS Access : too many limitations you can run into....its ok for "small" stand alone applications....
each database used for storing the data but what we use it depend on the application for which you want to use the database the my sql is mostly used with the php programming as the backend the ms access is the first step to learn about the database but the oracle is the oracle and it perform all the queries and provide some extra function which we have not used in the sql the sql all queries run on the oracle but some oracle function is not run with the sql like settime function, setline etc the oracle is used in the big organization
ms-access is only for a small project....who likes in the excel format ....my sql is a database which helps for a large storage of backup ....but usually companies uses oracle as a back end for their projects which survive a long last... ms-sql and asp.net will be helpful in doing a good project because both are microsoft product ..which is easy to maintain and implement ... php scripts and my sql act as a frontend & back end for major web developing projects.....php is the powerful technique, which is 20 times faster than other technologies
I prefer MSSQL over mysql due to the support it has for the .net language. However I still use mysql from time to time.
Using MS Access is much more simpler n easier compare to the other two for VB application while other tool which you can use is My SQL for bigger project as its a open source database.
it really depends on what you want to do. Use Access if you just want a simple/ no thrills database, MySQL if you are getting serious, but want to remain open source, and Oracle if you want a complete enterprise solution -eg data mining/ warehouses, auditing, etc.
it depends on yours. If you want free one, you can use mysql. oracle and MS access is used for comercial but you can ask for help with their technical support. Whatever database you use, I think it better learn the sql language first.
MySQL a) available free b) as good as identical on PC as on webserver ( therefore just one learning curve ) c) widely used and plenty documentation and support available
It's simple MS Access is more for office/application use. MySQL is best open source DB. Oracle is best commercial DB.
Basically, It depend on you and your plannings. If you are develop web site in Dot net frame work then i'll prefer My SQL. Because it is to maintain and Microsoft provide better connectivity. If develop in VB.net or D2k then i'll prefer Oracle.
