Hello, I'm in the process of creating my first clickbank product. I've designed 2 templates and wanted to get some thoughts on which one might work out better for my sales page. The first one is more clean and has a web 2.0 feel. The other one is more in your face with flashy graphics. First Page - http://www.beginnersprofitguide.com/ Second Page - http://www.beginnersprofitguide.com/profitguide1.jpg In my years of working online flashy graphics have always sold very well. However I see a lot of people moving toward the more clean / web 2.0 look. So which do you think will work better? My target market will be people looking to learn how to make money online.
I would go for the second one, because it looks more professional with a proper header and footer. The first one looks too simple and plain.
I'd go with the first. The second is what we're used to seeing because we deal in money making information products all day, and by those standards it looks pretty good. But you've got to think about what consumers are used to seeing these days, and what they are most comfortable with. The first is less salesy, less "in your face" and much more, dare I say it, Web 2.0 (also reminds me a bit of www.income.com/www.opportunity.com). Ultimately though, they're both good quality designs so I'd say split test them against each other and see which wins.
I would say the second one is better. Just from my experience, because i have made websites and tried to keep a more professional look and not so flashy, yes it works but i've noticed that unfortunately flashy sells more. It just does. Flashy will catch their eye. Your second one would catch their eye better. To us it all looks the same because we do see these websites all the time, but to someone who doesn't their probably going to get sucked into the flashy one first. Just my opinion.
Hmm personally I like the web 2.0 style the best, but I think the other one will have a better conversion rate. If you added some dollar bills to the design and changed the (IMO) semi-broken text "helping give you the keys to succes" the web 2.0 might be what I would go for
Hello Everyone, Thank you for the great replies. the-big-boss you're right I should have added a poll. From what I read so far it seems 50/50. I guess the best thing to do is like someone said above to split test them. Personally I like the web 2.0 feel as I think hype is getting old and people are getting use to that type of page and once they see it they X out the website right away. However I also know hype sells the best and it sucks people in So it looks like I'll split test them both and see what converts better, and then go from there.
Both are good but first one is really unique. By the way what type of product you are going to sell on CB?
Thank you. My product is going to target the "make money online" area. I know its a hard market but I'm not out to get rich. I just want to share what I know with others.
Definitely the second one, I am designing my site now as well and the one thing I've learned is that money sells ;P If you want people to get the impulse to buy something, they have to be lured in with flash (just don't over do it).
