I have a website which has PR4 and I can use freely (to put a link/links). Now I heve been trying to do some SEO on a new site. I'm wondering if I should put a link to the new site directory, or make a kind of "hub" site with a related topic (using a different domain or subdomain, or even a blog) and then put a link from that page/site to my targeted site. I think about this way because my other site is totally unrelated topic site to the new site. Or maybe both? What do you think? (The "hub" site probably will get PR1-2 soon.) So, Site A (PR4, unrelated topic) ---> The New Site OR Site A -----> Site/page B (related topic, soon PR1-2) ------> The new site Thanks!
Relevant links are ideal, but any links on a brand new websites don't count for much. I think in this case the PR4 homepage link would count for a lot more. If you are able to, do both links.
Getting links is most important in SEO since its a new site getting links from high pr is good. But link from the relevant sites will carry more weight than the irelevant links from high pr sites. So focus on relevant links first.
I would truly focus on building links from related niche... Good networking is all about getting associated with like minded people and places.... Regards, RightMan
Link from related topic is better than link from unrelated topic, no matter what their page rank is. If you are getting links from related topic it will be counted by google as premium link and you will get high google ranking and page rank. But if you are getting links from unrelated topic but from .gov or .edu , this would be better for getting higher page rank.
