    Hi Everybody,

I just recently read someone claiming, that they had a much better Seo boost from a forum posting service that they had paid for than a blog commenting service that they had just used.

I am asking you guys the experts, which type of link building do you think is better, or are they the same and why?

I wouldn't waste time on doing either. They are not effective use of your time.

Article marketing and guest posting would be more effective in the long run.

If you do either of them, I'd say forum posting is the most effective. You can build links easier, and people actually click on your links! The most effective would be article submission, however.

Both are useful in terms of link building. However, forum posting has an edge because a lot of people are becoming more active in forum sites. Being visible helps a lot and a lot of times, viewers also click on your provided links. Still, there are different methods to be used in link building, and yes, article submission is one of them.

Forum posting has its own advantages over blog commenting however from a pure SEO point of view, blog commenting is better. The reasons behind this are simple.

Posting on the same frum with your signature over and over again has minimal SEO effect. The reason being that the backlinks are comming from the same IP and the same domain.
When you comment on blogs, chances are that you use several of them. Blogs will also allow you to post on high PR pages. These high PR pages are harder to find in forums.

However keep in mind that forums will allow you to get direct traffic to your website. So I would say use both in order to get maximum exposure and backlink power.

Which is more effective Forum posts or blog comments?

The answer is based on how you link, the dofollow apsect and whether or not you post/comment regular on the same domain. Generally if you can get say five dollow high PageRank domains to comment on regular, then i would say these links can be stronger, their again if you have a forum that is dollow signatures, is a popular forum, has great PageRank and Pagerank distribution then forum links can be stronger.

Other factors come into it like is the post or thread busy? Are you providing useful information in the post or thread. Basically how active is a discussion. This helps make a stronger link.

    I could go on forever!!

Forum posting seriously can be very fun but, don't overdo it and be sure to have a very good reply that helps the community to grow and doesn't look like a spam. On the other hand, Blog commenting is also a good link building technique although it's hard to find dofollow blogs now and it just helps your site get more traffic.
