Someone said that php page is much better than HTML page in terms of Adsense in an earlier post. Is it true? Does someone else has similar experience?

PHP just outputs HTML code - it makes no difference.

PHP and HTML are the same to the viewer, difference is on the server side, not client side.
Ads are served to client side , so , it wont make a difference at all

PHP is a scripting language which generates HTML. Browser can only read HTML and only displays HTML. PHP code outputs HTML to the browser. So, PHP code doesn't not generate high paying keywords or anything like that.

PHP is better if you are talking about the include () function to make it easier to update adsense code - you don't have to upload every page as in html. Other than that everything is the same.

for se rankings.. you are better off not to carry the variables and to use mod rewrite to make the pages static .html.. but for adsense.. doesnt matter.

Theoretically you can do more advanced things with PHP, and these fancy PHP features on your site might retain more readers and positively effect the overall feel of your site, in turn increasing your adsense earnings, but I doubt that is what they were talking about ;)
