I want to make a domain. and my targeted keyword is "SEO services in India". I have already choosed a domain name- "seostep". But now I am confused that what should I make. .com or .co.in. which domain name will be better for my targeted keyword : "SEO services in India" .
If you want to limit your clients within the India only, then go for co.in. Otherwise, .com is the best compared to whatever TLDs out there. People prefer others just because they are already booked.
According to me,Go for .com if you have clients outside India and go for .in if you have your business within India only
If your target customer is global (not only india) I'd suggest you go with .com but if you want to target mostly from India, then yes go with co.in
Why not get just get .in instead of a subdomain like .co.in ? Why not get both, the .com and the .in an do 301 redirect ?
The best is getting a .COM. I also second the opinion given by Cheat. Instead of .CO.IN go for .IN domain & give a 301 redirect.. Its very simple.. I also found one very important SEO issue. Google catch .COM domains much faster than .IN domains. I don't know what reason behind it. But in my very own experience I found few of my client's .IN domains took much longer time to get in to google than .COM domain. They even provided sitemap too Google. But even without submitting a sitemap google caught .COM faster than .IN domain. It's purely my own experience. So better go for a .COM domain and also buy a .IN domain since .IN or .CO.IN domains are available for as low as Rs. 100 (around 2 U$D)
As with all subdomains, there is the risk the service ceases operations and then you're without domain. For advertising a serious site, I'd never rely on a subdomain. And especially don't confuse co.cc with a real ccTLD, dito with co.tv and co.nr and be.tf and countless others. All subdomain providers who can, whenever they want, plug out the cable.
Domain Registration is not so simple as it looks. If you buy the right name, Web users will be able to find your site with minimum efforts. There are so many extensions of domain Names available. It looks that every country sells domains with its own extension, or has at least sold the rights to the country extension to a company who has come up as the registrar. Most Web users automatically type in .com when they're not sure of a domain name. So, if your domain name is yoursite.org, users might remember "yoursite" but not the .org extension. It can be a real pain for you as well as the users! .com, .net and .org are the common extensions. If you can't buy the name you want as a .com, but the .net version of the name exists, it might be worth grabbing. .org domain Names are commonly associated with organizations (mostly non-profit) and unless your project is one of these, I recommend staying away from the .org extension unless you find yourself unable to find anything in .com or .net. Many other domain name extensions have been become popular through glossy marketing campaigns, including .ws, .fm, .am, .tv, .to and .cc just to name a few! Personally, Iwould like to stay away from these domains at any costs. You can usually find something good in .com and .net, if these are not available then .org - you should not have to go so far as a .fm, for example. There are also international extension domain names: each country has its own domain extension. For example, .com.au is Australian. In conclusion, I can only say again that always try to get a .com Cheapest Domain Registration! And if not, then aim for a .net or .org. Most major Websites use a .com . However, this doesn't mean a .net or .org can't do well. It just means that it will be slightly tuff to remember for your clients.
