Which is better? Articles, Videos, or Pod-cast

My husband is making a site for Automotive and I have to tell you I think it is quite a unique site.
The fact that neither of us are marketers we sought help with how to build and market the site.
We were told that we needed a combo of articles, video and pod-cast.

Being a content writer and understanding keywords I get this but we were told to be heavier in the video area than the articles.

I feel that the articles would be better and well he feels he paid a pro for a reason.

So my question is do any of you think videos are better and WHY? or do you think the Pro may be wrong?

The ultimate question is WHY are videos so much better (if they are) is it because they are so popular?

Do what works for you. Video marketing is a great way to build relationship and trust. People like to see faces so they tend to pay more attention. If you are asking me, it is like I rather watch television news than newspaper.

I suggest you do both articles and videos to bring out the maximum potential of your site. It also great if you have some budget to do some paid advertising like banners or PPC.

Always go for both since anyone of it have it own downside.
But video is more powerful coz its can easily attract viewer attraction that lead them to visit your site.

I see that that the video is more appealing especially in the digital age but I just thought Articles get more click-throughs. At least that is my experience so far, but then again I can't say that I make the greatest videos. Is there a way to boost clicks with videos?

Combination should works better, but it only 50% chances of success, the rest 50% I think depends on how webmaster can keep the uniqueness of the website

Articles are great for linkage, and videos are great, as others have said, for building relationships and connecting with your audience.

That being said, many people spend time during work hours surfing the web and many workplaces do not allow video to be played. Therefore, I think a podcast is great too, and you can get some iTunes search engine love at the same time, and hit audiences you may not have found through video or articles.

So, my advice would be to syndicate. Pick a medium that you like best (video or audio), and then do the other one too on the side. What I mean is, if you record video, it obviously comes with audio which you can take from the video and use as a podcast. If you prefer recording audio for podcasts, you can do that, and then create screencast presentations or slideshows that act as the video part.

Just my 2 cents. Any thoughts?

I believe in the power of words. Videos are entertaining but in my opinion (this is only opinion as I have not tested, nor do I know of any previous tests on the subject) articles are are more gripping. When I am looking for information on a product, a video seems more like a commercial. An informative, honest and unique article will keep my interest more than a commercial. The article has to be good though!
    Just my 2 cents

Plus, if you have Video that gives you access to another in-source of clicks; YouTube...not many websites with text-only on YouTube after-all. More traffic is better, right? =)

patflynn thanks for your idea. I never thought of taking the audio from a video for podcast. I thought I would have to do a separate audio for a podcast but this is so much simpler and a great time saver. Thanks!
