Which is better and Why vBulletin or PHPBB

I am currently running PHPBB on my website, but after spending sometime here at DP, I am considering switching over to vBulletin. Doesanyone know of any stong points one has over the other. I am leaning to vBulletin now because, of what the owner of DP did with the adsense program. How cool was that? Any thoughs would be appreciated.

Well phpbb is very easy to mod, if you know php, or there is a lot of free simple to install mods for it. But Vb is more secure in my opinion. But for the price I would stick with phpbb if you don't get a constant 10 people on your forum.

 

what if I want as many people as this fourm evertually?

 

Then I would go for Vb... You have better support for it, so if you are having trouble with it you can easily contact them. (although the phone support is quite expensive). But i think Vb as a programmer is more stable than phpbb.

So as you say seem to have a lot of people and don't worry about the money too much get Vb for sure.

 

I would have to say vB because of better security protection.

And good luck on becoming as big as DP.

vBulletin is best for making a forum !!! but if you dont have money then phpBB.
recently i upload the phpBB 3 , the site loading speed is very poor !

so make decisions what u need !

 

me myself using PHPBB on my site. but all the big forums, they all using VB so i think that's prove it. if you got a budget and lots of visitors just go for VB.
