    Wordpress is the most popular I'm sure. Finding a good theme for it may cost some money. Keep in mind that in most cases it takes money to make money. So unless you have some type of budget, you should probably just work on doing on end jobs until you have enough to market the website and build it.

    Wordpress is my favorite.. You can either host it on their server or your own.. Very easy to set up..

    Wordpress is the one i like the best. So many plugings and options you can not go wrong with it.

    Wordpress, but host it on your own domain. My first impression when seeing a link to a free Wordpress subdomain blog is "this has gotta be spam."

    I have only used wordpress and the google one, wordpress wins hands down but I am sure there are others. If you have the time why not test a few out and see which one suits your needs better.

    Bah ! yet another thread of repeated recommendation for Wordpress :/ .

    Common, in terms of popularity there are only 2 browsers which rule , Wordpress and Blogger (it would have been lost in doom, if it wasn't for Google). And Wordpress user/plugins/theme base is much higher and probably unbeatable, atleast in near future.

    Another would be Movable Type which probably has a more robust archiving system ? And we used to have endless "Wordpress vs Movabletype" style threads around the internet when wordpress started. Though only problem (if any) with it, is the $69.95 price tag with unlimited weblogs, authors and full support.

    Yet another, Textpattern is indeed good for easy publishing of content for those not inclined to learn HTML.
