Just give answer by saying "BLOG" or "WEBSITE"

Also give your answer in brief - why you like either "BLOG" or "WEBSITE" ?

Well for me i call a blog a website anyway, and a blog can look and feel less like a blog if you want it to.

What exactly is a "website"? one not running off a script?

You are not specifying what you mean best for?

    Best for:
    1.SEO
    2.Ease of use
    3.Income
    4.Something else?

    A blog is a website.

The thing with blogs these days is that you can set them up and customise them very easily.

I like using both together. For example, I'm in the process of setting up a website to advertise my web content writing service. The site runs off WordPress, but because it uses the Notepad theme, it's got several static pages and then the blog is built into the rest of the website.

I use blogs for websites with content

It provides a structure easily and I can easily update content very often with some posts or pages

Now I tend to use websites more and more only for affiliate marketing (redirect, landing pages...)

    Link is broken, it's http://www.bestwpthemes.com/notepad/

    Nice theme.

I prefer a mix of both, a website with incorporated blog

If you want to provide information and allow discussions blog would be the better choice.

But for a professional company blog won;t be look like professional. there must be a professional website template.

But you know what he means...

A blog is a WP powered website (so something full of features, archives and plugins that you have to update) and a website is a more an html static thing

I guess we can be friendly with dipal76 :)

It depends on your purpose. To put out changing content and to get SEO love for it it is important to have a blog. But the blog may point to your website, where you have a static sales or optin page in order to generate leads or sell stuff. You can sell directly off of your blog, too, of course, but it is most effective for getting you known as an expert in your field so people will take your products seriously.

Generally I would say if you are a newby then definately a blog.
Easy to setup, customize and even promote in search engines due to many SEO plugins

I would like to add something for the newbies

It's not just about setting up a WP blog with "many SEO plugins"

To get a good ranking is about adding regularly fresh unique content and having good links to your internet property

It's not just about WP or not

I like Blogs the best, but I have had the most success with actual websites.

Mainly because I like writing and bouncing ideas off of people.
