Think about it like this, why would anyone want to visit your site? If you were someone that is in your targeted group, "why" would you want to visit your site? The answer to "why" points you in the direction of the content you need to build. With the content comes the keywords that people will be looking for.

And finally, how to get them to visit your site. This comes from ranking well in search engines or advertising to a targeted group. It does not have to be bought advertising, it can be signature links, video blogging, buying ads,,,, But you have to go to the people that are looking for you. Paid traffic is offered by companies/sites that have a software that can send fake 'visitors' to your site.

Doing this will mean that your index page will recieve alot of traffic yes but when you look at the stats surrounding that (analytics) you will see that that traffic has bounced right back....

So when you come to trying to sell the site, you will have to explain why the traffic to the site is so high but why they have been to the site for like 5 secs and then left.

I would advise that if you were going to place money into getting traffic that you find a service that offers 'targetted traffic'. This means that the site is shown to people actually looking for what ever you offer.

It will cost you a little more but you will see more results from this method.
