How much reasonable is asking that question, for different people different hosting works, depending on their support and hosting related requirement, you will find happy and unhappy customer in everywhere

I wouldn't choose 1and1 there support kinda sucks.... They have marketing scams were u register a domain and its on auto renew and its retarded a lot of people dont even know its on auto renew.

I have been with Bluehost and the customer support via IM is really good: I was a total newbie to web hosting/ site-building 2 motnhs ago and now I am flying. AM happy to recommend them.

ive used many hosts over the handfull of my internet reigning. from dual xeons managed by serverwizards.com to cheap hosting from canaca.com ;)

since the larger sites have been sold off no need for dedicated servers anymore, barely pushing around 10,000 uniques a day...

but now since i just basically go for clients now not traffic my hosting is with godaddy and its very reliable, they help me out whenever there are problems, sure most of them dont know wtf they are doing but what can you expect from larger companies ;) experience i have learned helps solve problems with my hosting usually ;)

I have my own server but I have seen many people around referring HostGator so you should give it a try or BlueHost maybe?
