    Which hosting is good for a file hosting site?

    i basically will open a file hosting site.I will provide my visitors a free file hosting which will be limited 400mb per file.

    i need a linux hosting with a big space and bandwitch.it can be shared hosting or reseller. which one is more economic. what hosting site do you recommend me.

    With something like that, you will want a VPS to start off with. If all goes well, you start making money, you could get a Dedicated Server.

    filehosting site need high HDD with RAID protection so better as vivithemage said go for vps or dedicated server

    File hosting is not that process intensive as websites. Every web hosting providers gives you FTP account, unlimited bandwidth. Simple coding work in your website will take care of file sharing.

    Whatever you choose, when it comes to File Hosting, know that a dedicated server is the only real guaranteed option for success. Anything less than that means overloaded servers, cancellations, angry customers, angry host, etc.

    right now im using my google pages site to host my files of my podcast and it works pretty well but im trying to find another free site with more space (currently Goog. pag. is 100mb) and maybe faster uploads.
