Currently I am using websitesource.com, and consider to move to other shared hosting. The reason for me to move my sites is because recently this host keep experience down time. The worst is today as my post, it's already down almost 24 hours for some of my sites. The live chat provided also lousy because the person is rarely available. Any opinion on dreamhost.com? I heard that this one is good.
I've read a lot of positive and negative things about dreamhost. The negative things say that you can never get close to using the amount of bandwidth and space they offer before they suspend your account for using too many resources. I don't have any personal experience with them though. It really depends what you need from a webhost.
Which hosting --- Must have fast fast internet access, multiple processors, low cpu load, not to be overselling, and have low amount of domains for the same IP (if shared hosting) .. none needs more than a gigabyte of storage space because only few are making movies and stuff like that .. so .. whatever hosting has those I rank him good host!!! Cheers, Venetsian.
Can I just ask one very simple question. If you have more than 2 trouble tickets/problems per month .. and it takes the staff about 20 minutes to fix it and the normal pay rate per person per hour is $25 (which is the bare minimum of tech support) how good support do you think they are going to give you per month when you pay them 1.50 and they have $10 expences ?? P.S. I forgot about the hardware and internet traffic expences ..
I recommend hostgator i currently host a few forums with them and they are fast loading and i have very little downtime.
While hostgator is flawless in uptime and ease of use, I just found out that they have a 2000 file limit. So, if your site has lots of files, go somewhere other than host gator.
