I'd say hostgator because their primary function is hosting, opposed to godaddy primarily selling domains. Plus I've heard good feedback from hostgator customers.

I never use Godaddy for hosting so I must say Hostgator is the best. For a cheap price, they offer great services and great customer support.

Although I didn't use the services of both goDaddy and Hostgator, given a choice I would choose the latter (hostgator) :)

Go for HostGator. You get 24/7 live chat support, almost unlimited storage and bandwidth from reputable company.

I believe Hostgator is better than Godaddy although i didn't use any of them. Why limit yourself to 2 options?

you should take a look at this crazy hosting deal.

I am with hostgator since 2006 because this is their primary business. I also had the pleasure to communicate with Brent Oxley, the owner of the company. And they have a very good reputation too.

As regards to godaddy, their primary business is domain name registrations.

I don't know about all that. Yes, HostGator is better then Godaddy when compared to shared hosting. If you compare the two companies in VPS or Dedicated Server, GoDaddy will win hands down. All companies are good but the prices are there. HostGator isn't perfect they do experince some slow time and if unlucky maybe downtime.

If you use the coupon, 404page with HostGator you only pay $.01 with the Baby Package.

Anyways good luck on picking a company to go with:)
