    Really that thing is based on the kid interest, because different people are having different tastes. In my opinion for any kids Super mario games are the best gifts, these games are having lot of enjoyment and fun. So it is suites for any people.

    As you said he is a eight year old kid, you should gift some educational kind of games that will help him to grow his knowledge as well as have fun playing it.
    One of which is Electronade something don't exactly remember the name.
