vBulletin for me. I just like the admin layout better and the forums themselves are more widely used.

vbulletin is pretty strong, i always prefer that
coz they have a huge team and constant r & d to improve and get better versions, newer features to keep alive with the changing environment and needs of daily internet users.

VBulletin as always is the best Forum Software available on internet right now.
IPB interface(admmin) is really dumb I have worked for IPB cleints and its much difficult to do something then in VB.

SMF as it is more securer and provides more options and mods then other free boards.

Vbulletin is nice when you are bored to modify a forum, as it has enough options, but still it is the most server consuming script.

phpbb is simply the worst script around, and the most insecure.

I prefer SMF because it is fast, it has most of the futures that you need, and it is very easy to modified.

My personal favourite is phpBB. :)

I just prefer it over the other available forum software, and it will be even better when the new one comes out.

I agree with Nikolas. SMF is great, and as for adding custom themes etc its great because it is easier to edit the whole look of the forum php coding wise.

Before SMF I was useing XMB.. that was okay, but not really what suited my needs at the time.

Even though I've never purchased a copy of vBulletin, I've got to say it is definitely the best forum software out there today.
