    Once again: wrong.

    At this moment it has 253.782 registered members and two days ago that number was 251,224 (as you can see in my previous posts).

    Do the math yourself: ( 253.782 - 251,224 ) / 2 = 1279 registrations a day

    Personally, I find it odd to see such high number and wouldn't place much reliability on it as an indicator of growth. I have a forum also on myBB with several hundreds of users and only a counts with some scarce posts that are not updated in months. This shows that automatic spam tools do wonders with registrations and wouldn't surprise me to see that HF in particular is being used as target practice.

    So, does the number of registrations per day proves that one forum is better than another? The situation that you chose only shows that HF is more vulnerable to spam registrations than DP.

    Please take 5 minutes to think carefully before you write in case you wish to reply again. I always do.

    Thank God! You came on topic. I do not want to compare two forums abc.com vs xyz.com.

    As I mentioned in my first post. I want to start a forum. Well, all have some benefit as I mentioned in the first topic. I would like to see your opinion on various facts about those forum software.

    May you share some good forums.

    As i feel/seen:
    • A lot of forums using vB as compared to any other software.
    • Some forums have switched to IPB from vB in recent past. (not seen the reverse. ie IPB-->vB)
    • People are equally divided between phpBB, myBB and SMF
    May you rank the forum software for me. Please keep in mind. I have already 2 blogs hosted on shared hosting. So, I may have less server resources. I also have limited budget, but may buy vB (forum only) or IPB or any other software if it seems essential in terms of features like Security (#1 reason) Server Resources (#2) other features (#3, since it seems all forums software i mentioned or you guys mentioned have almost similar features) and I have no plan to create a torrent site which will host a lot of multimedia.

    I just need a forum where my blog visitors (or any people around the web) will participate in talks, share opinion or such thing..

    A vote for MyBB from me as well. Started a forum for GIMP users at www.gimpforums.com in early 2010 and am pleased my choice was exactly MyBB, as it's easy and pleasant in use. Now as of writing, the forum has 4,754 posts in 1,080 threads and averages 250 unique visitors per day. 70% of visits come from search engines looking for information and that means MyBB is SE-optimized.

    It's still on HostGator's shared with a bunch of other moderately active websites.

    I am using SMF in one of my sites.Its better because its so simple to install Plugins/Mods compare to other Free scripts.You have to be expert to install Plugins/Mods in phpBB.

    Well you can easily change the behavior, layout, options and structure of your discussion board on MyBB's.
