Which forum is better (pls have a look)

    I am going to start a community where ppls could discuss about movies
    So I just want to know which forum software should I use


    PHP BB

    VBulletin

    SMF

    Or any other if you think is better then these ones

    we have VBulletin, and quite frankly we love it...but some other people like phpbb, so its up to you...

    I can pay for vBulletin if its really good then phpBB
    what is the big difference between both of them??

    Bad part:
    there is a reason why it is free. It lacks in user capabilities and effectiveness and has little mods for it and less unprofessional development team. But it is free.

    VBulletin
    GoodPart:
    vBulletin is great! is has many features and easy to navigate through. The admin panel is one of the best (in my opinion anyway) It has many modifications available and is effective and used quite often for larger websites
    Bad part:
    such as this one! However its not free.

    SMF
    Goodpart:
    Its fairrly new compared to the others. And it is also free. The admincp is ok.
    Bad part:
    Although the AdminCP is "ok" it can also be challenging and confusing at times.

    That being said, if you have the money and can afford a vBulletin license (www.vbulletin.com); then I suggest you use that.

    vbulletin is fantastic
    Looks - well I would set it up similar to online movie databases - check them out & see how they "categorize" - you can then get an understanding of what people looking for info to discuss are looking for...

    The biggest differences are for 1 is that vbulletin you have to pay for and 2 vbulletin you can modify the hell out of it to fit you. :)

    Phpbb is generic compared to vbulletin to be quite honest.


    As far as the look of a vbulletin forum, people tend to like that basic or a custom theme. Creating a logo for vbulletin forum is easy typically depending upon your forums theme. Just you know mess around and experiment to find just the right thing you like.

    If you paid version buy vbulletin, otherwise I prefer SMF.

    Good idea i was also thinking to go through with this.


    is it fine if user post the url on the board to download any movie or will it come against copyright?

    About the domain.

    If your having a forum only, no website. Have a domain that as a keyword then forums dot com. :D
