Why not use a large, clean, beautiful font?
Why do large fonts have to be ugly?

Small and sophisticated use to be more popular.

Now with the web 2.0 trend big and simplistic type is in style.

Customer satisfaction is number one. Even if its ugly, you want it to be easy on the eyes.

You never want something that is going to be hard on the eyes. If its not visually appealing, their less likely to stay on your site. I find that a good combination of both large and small seem to work best. And as mentioned above, remember that just because its large, doesnt mean it has to be ugly.

I love Trebuchet or Georgia for the Headings and Verdana or Tahoma for the copy.
