Which two fonts are used in the logos of Fritterware and FontDiner? See also the two attached images.

I had a look at WhatTheFont and Identifont, but couldn't identify the fonts that are used. Does anyone else know?

it's also entirely possible (and likely for the second one) that you might be looking at a HIGHLY modified version of an existing font or maybe not a font at all but a piece of static vector artwork.

I'm inclined to say you won't find them, or at least not exactly. But if you want a specific look and have text you want, I'm sure you could find a designer who is able to create it for you.

Another secret I have used before is this: I'm not good at all kinds of drawing, but one type of artist who is VERY skilled at certain styles and has to be precise and has 0 margin for error is a tattoo artist.

I've taken sketches into a tattoo artist before of a rough idea of what I want and explained: "I am not looking for a tattoo, just a design. I'm willing to pay whatever you feel is appropriate" and tell them what I plan to use it for (they are always interested in where their design will be seen, if not on my arm) and then give them a week or so and they'll sketch up a fantastic design for you.

    Hope this helps...

A tattoo artist? LOL! Nice tip, though! Perhaps I should give that a try, since finding a font in those databases is close to impossible.

dafont.com is a place we designers first look for get simple font ideas for logos/headers. They have a ton of 'disposable' fonts that look alright, need tweaking and make a great base to build your custom logo on. We never use the plain, nor do we use them for blocks of text, just words, big words.

They also have them sorted there and they're all free, some are free with restrictions, so just be cautious because typographers are like strip club owners. They give you what they give you under an agreement, you abuse their font and they'll send their hitmen after you.

Tattoo artists also have a very very different sense of humour....and since I have 0 tattoos they love to make facial tattoo jokes and how they're not gonna let me go till I look halfway like darth maul. :)
