    When searching for good niches, I found a lot of sites with high PR but the competition with its subdomain or link not with the homepage. Giving the fact the page in that search doesn't have PR or a lot of back links.

    Can I compete these pages if I got back links only for my websites?

    Strong backlinks mean more than a high pr. If you focus on getting quality backlinks and have some good onsite seo, you can be successful.
