Wow, I can only hope you are joking. I was a teenager in the 80's and you can't get much worse than the synth-pop, the techno-pop, and the glam-rock bands that hit the airwaves in the 80's (with the possible exception of Guns N' Roses).

    90's FTW (with the 70's being a close 2nd).

    80's hands down. Consider this:

    Metallica
    Iron Maiden
    Slayer
    Anthrax

Then when the grudge came in the 90's, it all went down hill and look at the shit it got to today

Although i am partial to a bit of 80's, the music of the 60's have a massive impact on music - The Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. etc. Loads of later bands have been influenced by these two alone.

60s and 70s So many great bands and a lot of lost gems to find in that era's music. I just hate today's music since its too comercial and money driven. You can tell they care about the money when they are complaining about music piracy. Now days anyone with a large sum of money can be a "musician", look at Paris Hilton for example. Also music is being taken over by too much technology. Just my little rant :)
