I wouldn't mind paying a little premium for it but it's quite a bit more.

For best email delivery rate and upgradeable options in the future, you should choose aweber.

Other than aweber you may also consider getresponse and icontact.

At this moment, this 3 are the best email marketing professional service on the market, other than this 3 companies, the rest you should not even consider it.

We use constantcontact for one of our sites and self-hosted solutions for the others.

Is it possible to use multiple sites and have different lists for different sites? I noticed with Get Response the signature is the preset. Can I customize it for each of my list?

    I like iContact the best.

I used to use PHP because it was free, but then had the problems of ISP's blacklisting the IP address. It also got to the point that as the list of emails grew it took longer and longer to send each email out. We were sending 50,000+ emails each one was custom generated and it would take over 24 hours to send out. For both reasons this didn't work.

We also tried Benchmark and they were just awful.

We compared Constant Contact and iContact and went with iContact because of their service and price. We have been impressed with both. Our clients enjoy using it. We use their RSS, API, and other features and found their tech support to be very good.

    Here's a link:http://www.icontact.com/a.pl/251019

I'm collecting emails with getresponse right now. I noticed the join rate is a lot less than the custom made software I made.

I also have another list where I want to start sending them emails without the opt in. I know that most will not opt in of this list but I don't mind if they opt out. My friend can do this with iContact. Any other programs that can do this?

I like autoresponderpro.net which I am biased as it is my site but I started this site as most of the autoresponder services did not have built in splash pages that looked professional to generate your own leads.

I agree that iContact is really good (IMO, better than Aweber - I appreciate design a lot). However, I prefer when I'm in control of everything :D I think you should try www.interspire.com/emailmarketer , as netx said above. It's really good.

Bob, you just changed my life, I've been looking for self hosted solution for couple of month now. When you have over 10k or over 25k list, things get really pricey. Couple month of paying to AWebber or iContact will replace the price of "emailmarketer" and than you just enjoy free service :)

I would disagree. The amount of money lost of undeliverable emails with privately hosted email service is valued more than the cost of AWebber.

I've been using GetResponse and I would have to say I prefer AWebber because I heard of some features in Awebber that is not in GetResponse and lots of things just aren't right with GetResponse interface.
