Which editor puts scan tags in code?
    It's not a frontpage tag.

SCAN = In reference to font types sizes and colors.

    Which editor uses it?
Someone edited pages in another editor and messed up some code.
So we wanted to know what they used.

    Thanks.
    Now we know.
    Dreamweaver messes up frontpage coding.
Had to copy the pages plain text to get the junk code out and redo them in frontpage.

Really think it's tacky that a hosting company would use another editor and change, edit and delete their clients content on their site, besides illegal. Also without notice before and after the fact.

Gatordun, it happens alot unfortunately. I even had one competitor target some of my clients at one point, take over their hosting, transfer their content, (all legitimate business... notice i didn't say STOLE my customers... i even helped him get their content with my customer's consent... if they wanted to transfer to him that was their perogative :) ) and then put his own code at the bottom of all of their pages. He even went so far as to put his own email address on their forms as a recipient... talk about a sleazeball. Fortunately, they didn't take too kindly to this blatent butchering of their livelihood and came back to us! hehe

Good luck with getting your code back into shape, i hope you've got good backups.... i'd say its time for a host change.

    zak,

yes, frontpage has special tags that work with specifically with FP server extensions. if, as gatordun is saying, a web hosting company goes in and alters the pages via another software package, it can cause site functionality to not work properly.

Can't quote the specifics off-hand, but there have been other posts here discussing the particulars.

Please men a lot is 2 words.

vectorgraphx it's illegal to edit anyone’s site without permission.
I have a friend who does web design and he adds all his tags in his client’s sites for references.
    I think it’s unethical.

Also note frontpage works with a good hosting company.

if, as gatordun is saying, a web hosting company goes in and alters the pages via another software package, it can cause site functionality to not work properly.

They should use what the client is using and the server is set up for to edit their site and nothing else.
When they do whatever they want is the major f up.

    1) we have evolved past grammar here =P

    2) Frontpage should be avoided at all costs... serverside and clientside.

Yah most can't type in sentences here.
    So who cares about grammar?
    What is =P ?
No smart MS people should only host frontpage.
    Anyone else it bias.

    Sorry is bias.
    I don't use spell checker.

A lot annoys me when people don't spell it right.
I learned that rule in 1st grade.
