I might be laughed at but I like Gumroad. It's free, and I think it's so simple it works. Drive traffic to it and get sales. I legitimately think it's great and very underrated especially for those starting a business.

For me, the best dropshipping platform isn’t even as popular as Shopify or BigCommerce, but it’s the one I went with. Part of me wants it to get big, and part of me wants to keep this goldmine to myself lol. You don’t have to mess with a million apps like on Shopify, you just pick the plan that fits you and your store is basically ready to sell from day one (not even exaggerating). They also help with SMM and SEO, and a bunch of tools are already included in the price. And it’s not just me, go check out Neal’s review if you want a real user’s take.

I think it depends on the type of store. Many people still prefer simple platforms that are easy to manage and scale. User experience matters a lot.

Really insightful discussion! This resonates with my experience running a UK e-commerce business.
One area that transformed our operations was optimizing our China sourcing strategy. We moved from managing Alibaba suppliers directly to working with a dedicated sourcing agent in Shenzhen. The results were significant:
    • Unit costs dropped 22-35% through factory-direct pricing negotiation
    • Quality issues virtually eliminated with proper 3-stage QC inspections
    • Lead times reduced by 2 weeks with better logistics coordination
    • No more communication misunderstandings with bilingual team support
We've been using PocketChina for about 18 months — they handle everything from supplier vetting to customs paperwork. The ROI has been substantial, saving us over £35k while dramatically improving product quality.
For anyone in e-commerce looking at China sourcing, having someone on the ground who understands both Chinese manufacturing and Western business expectations makes all the difference.

Gonna be real with you, I tried a few before landing on something that actually worked for me so I got some opinions on this lol.

Started with Shopify because that's what everybody recommends when you're figuring out how to start dropshipping for beginners. And look, it's not a bad platform. But nobody warns you that it's basically just an empty shell. You still gotta find products yourself, figure out suppliers, learn how to run ads, set up all your automations. I spent more time building the thing than actually selling anything. Wasn't for me.

Tried Wix after that thinking maybe the problem was Shopify specifically. Same story. Great for building a pretty website, terrible if your actual goal is making money without already knowing what you're doing.

Then someone dropped Ecomzy in a thread I was reading and I went down a rabbit hole. First thing I did was search is Ecomzy legit because at this point my scam radar is permanently on lol. But it checks out, it's built on Sellvia's platform, been running since 2016, over 1.5 million stores launched, Forbes and Inc. Magazine have both covered them. That's not something a sketchy platform has going for it.

So what is Ecomzy really? The way I'd describe it to someone just getting started, it's a full online business handed to you. Store is already built, products are already loaded, and the ad system is built right into the platform. You don't have to go learn Google Ads or Facebook Ads from scratch. You set a daily budget and it handles the targeting and creatives for you. That alone was worth switching for me.

The other thing I'll say is the products are digital so there's no inventory drama, no shipping headaches, none of that. You keep 50 to 70 percent of every sale and the product delivers itself instantly. Coming from physical product stores that felt like a cheat code honestly.

Is it perfect? Nothing is. But for anyone who's tired of building everything from zero and just wants to focus on actually running a business, it's the closest thing I've found to a proper starting point. Free trial too so you're not risking anything to find out.

What platforms have you guys been testing? Curious if anyone's had a totally different experience.
