I believe this is interesting story for some people and I want to share it with you and maybe there would be some opinions. Recently I have been robbed when purchasing online at one US fake online store (I don't know if it is allowed here to tell it's address?) and which is hosted by a certain eCommerce company, in this text I give it alias name 3X company (again don't want to break any rules). I reported the crooks to the US authorities but with not much hope ("we have thousands of complaints of the sort..."), but also I got the idea to inform the 3X eCommerce company that crooks are using as we speak as a cover for their criminal activity, trying to stop other descent people being robbed.
The 3X company is actually giving the full hosting and eCommerce support to the fake site. When contacting them I gave them all relevant data about the scam and specifically explained the crooks did not respond to all my emails after they took my money, dozens of emails. Now comes the surprise for me - all I got was this answer:
The hypocrisy is obvious: the supervisor is directing me to the crooks even if I explained they do not respond. Now the interesting part: when checking the 3X terms of services, it is written:
If I understand this legal mambo jumbo the 3X company do not give a d**m if all US laws are broken by somebody who uses their own hosting and eCommerce. Yes they may act if they want, only that.
On the other side, if you read the Terms of service of some of the best known / real eCommerce hosting companies, you will find this:
Now we come to my point: some eCommerce sites are supporting robbery and fake online stores. The 3X company is actually an accomplice in crime. And who knows how many of those people are "out there" doing the same thing.
