Which e-commerce solution would you recommend? Is WP a viable option?

    Hello all,

I have made 100s of websites but I haven't really been involved in e-commerce so I would really appreciate any advice on the matter.

I basically need to build a site that will sell a few variations of a single product - not sure if I'll set it up like that or if I'll make each variation a different product, but I don't think that this will make a big difference. For simplicity purposes, let's assume that I will have 10 products.

These are the features that I need:

    1) Multiple pictures for each product
    2) For payment processing - Credit cards (possibly 3rd party integration) + Paypal
    3) Ability to print out invoices
    4) Ability to print out shipping labels

That's basically it. Now, another important thing to note here is that I am a WP expert - I use WP for all my sites, I love it, and I can customize it completely. In other words, if I had a few months to spend on this then I know that I could make a custom e-commerce plugin to handle all the above on WP, but I really don't. I am on a small budget and on a short deadline.

I keep hearing about Magento but their CE (community edition) doesn't support all the required features and I hear that it is very heavy and that it can be a BIG pain to custom-theme it which is what I plan to do. I will make a completely unique theme and I will need to code it on any solution that I choose, so keep that in mind when giving me your advice.

Ideally, I would use a couple of WP plugins and power the whole site through WP - the problem is that every popular solution I have found seems to lack at least one of the features.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!!

Try With Zeuscart which is the best open source shopping cart software to create your store.

    Hello, spycraft!

Your requirements are rather small and they exist in CS-Cart Community (free) Edition ( I use Professional Edition which is paid). Also, it seems to be easy for customizations with a good code structure and template editor in the back-end.
