Never had a site with that many listings but know that wordpress ecommerce has worked for me. Wordpress is very search engine friendly and most themes made for it are too. Good luck and all the best.

    Hey,

Like many have said before Magento is the best. Magento is owned by Ebay, and is by far the most flexible software in terms of SEO and marketing.

This software has an open source community edition that is available at http://www.magentocommerce.com and you can download tons of extensions right from the admin panel, no coding necessary.

    Hope this is helps!

The problem with many of the solutions offered by others is twofold:

    1) Many of the solutions offered have product limits and file size maximums and with the number of products you are talking about, you will be paying $200 or more per month for those e commerce platforms.

    2) None of them I would recommend to an absolute beginner in e commerce. You are going to have a tough enough time trying to manage a catalog with that many products and certainly will have your hands full doing SEO for a catalog like that. You're going to want something that is fully customizable yet still simple enough for a beginner to understand.

I would highly recommend that you check out Zulu Cart. It is easy point and click e commerce software and it is super easy to customize your website to look any way that you want. You don't have to know any programming languages - no HTML, no CSS, no PHP. If you can use Microsoft Word, you can use Zulu Cart. They offer a free 30 day trial and free installation. For those who already have an e commerce website and are looking for a different solution, they even will migrate your website to Zulu for free.

Why not try some free open source ecommerce platform than paying monthly fees for those ecommerce hosts? zen-cart, oscommerce and open cart are possible alternatives which have seo add-ons.

bigcommerce is the best. i've been with oscommerce, magento, shopify, magentoGo, volusion, opencart, and even prestashop.

zencart is a variation of oscommerce.

I would rule everything out, if your not going to go with BigCommerce, go with Magento (but theres enormous costs that most newbies don't realize) trust me, i've experienced it.

I do offer ecommerce services, but PM for more details, I'm not trying to sell you anything, I just want to give you a advice that no one gave me

Like others have mentioned here, I would go with Magento for a professional, scaleable eCommerce platform. I would stay away from Shopify only for the reason that they take a nice transaction percentage of your business on certain plans. Another shopping cart platform to consider is woocommerce for wordpress. Wordpress sites are very SEO friendly.

We tested the free version of interspire shopping cart 6.1.8 sp1.0.0 and it is really nice an SEO friendly.
You may also want to try other software like oscommerce and creloaded.
