Hi Guys, As you guys know the week season arrives(holiday) and the best moment to prepare marketing plans for 2007 arrives. Being January the best month for marketing online(my opinion)... Do you think that having... www.businessloans.com or www.loansbusiness.com ...will equally mean the same when it comes to ranking in Google #1 for the keyword "Business Loans" "business loans"? Same keywords in the domain but inverted, will it get the job done. Domains here noted as example. Possibility of a $2.5k-4k negotiation domain purchase is issue/excitement here. Any SEO friendly guys who know about this, appreciation in advance. Thanks. Jonathan
I agree w/ Seiya: you'll probably rank better for the first one. I think the order can make a difference. Plus, people will remember it better. It would be more difficult to remember the reverse order; doesn't sound natural. So, either way, you will probably end up bringing in more traffic with first one. Now, if that traffic will equate to a $4K difference or not .... well, that's up to how well you market, and the products that you promote.
I don't think the weight between interchanging the two words is that big of a deal. Certainly you'll be marketing this site well enough that something that small shouldn't matter much as far as keyword weight goes. So, as far as how search engines read it, it won't matter too much. However, you're not making the site for a search engine (or at least you shouldn't be...). You want something easy to remember and makes sense. LoansBusiness.com doesn't make nearly as much sense as BusinessLoans.com. Definatley go with BusinesLoans.com, for the human reader's sake.
I've read somewhere that Google's search engine will actually pay attention to the order of the words. You are much better off with BusinessLoans.com. This is especially true if you are thinking of branding it for repeat visitors.
Yes, order is important in Search Engines. Business Loans will definitely gain more queries from the users than Loans Business. However, Google does not place much weight on the domain name as compared to the other search engine.. cough *MSN*. If ranking in Google is your top priority, you might want to go for loansbusiness.com and spend the extra money saved to advertise / gain some high quality inbound links from popular sites. Good Luck
A possibly cheaper alternative would be loansforbusiness.com. It would help the inverted term be more readable and memorable for humans. Still has your key words for SE's and may help pull even more long tail type searches. With the "for" in there you could possibly target terms like: applying for business loans getting a loan for my business etc. But the word "for" may often be just ignored by SE's too, like "the", "and", "a", etc. This all depends of course on what the guy who currently owns it would sell it for.
I do not believe in having a keyword in a domain help in serps at all and thats what i have learned and experienced too. It does help though and the only way it helps is Anchor text, Yes people often put the name of the website as anchor text and having good and lot of anchor text will help you rank better. So its not about having keyword in the domain its anchor text. However you will get more links with anchor text of your website name Hope this will clarify some doubts here
I disagree. I've seen examples of mediocre sites, or very new sites that do not have domain name anchor text links, or are not likely to attract many (because the site is simply not good enough to attract organic links, or is too new to have attracted them in any numbers) I think having your exact keyphrase in your domain helps. Later-on it will help more because of organic domain name anchor links. And combined with on-page optimization, and link building that focuses on a good mix of terms, it's a great way to do it if you can get the domain. Look at all the entries into the seo contests. Almost all the contenders use keyword domains. A domain names role in SEO, on its own, is very minor. But its just one more, of many minor things, that make it easier.
...will equally mean the same when it comes to ranking in Google #1 for the keyword "Business Loans" "business loans"? Well, this one catched my eyes. Is it difference between "Business Loans" or "business loans" ? I mean if we target Business Loans in anchor, does Google and other engines make difference between small and big letters ?
Thats good, cause we all submit links in directories with caps, and most of users doesnt type caps in searches
Neither one is going to give you a better ranking over the other. You should pick businessloans.com for one reason and one reason only. The user. The amount of type in traffic you will get will be huge compared to the 2nd domain because if someone tells their friend to go to businessloans.com they will remember that when they get home. On the other hand, if your domain is loansbusiness.com they are more likely to get it wrong since it doesn't flow properly in the English language.
Get business-loans.com if you can but if not businessloans.com is better. It would get more type-in traffic, as others have mentioned.
i would say go with the first one.. you will get your money back on saving on promotion in the future
Hi Google is now paying attention to the order of the words so if you want found under business loans then I think that the first domain would benefit you more pete
