Hello everyone, I wanted to get some clarification on a couple questions I have and I'm hoping someone here will be kind enough to help me. I've been working on linkbuilding for the company I work for on our primary domain name. According to Websitegrader and Bluebacklinks I have about 235 backlinks. This domain has about 7,000 pages indexed. We've put a lot of work into optimizing for specific keywords and we get an A at SeoMoz for all of our targeted terms. We don't rank on the most competitive terms, but we do rank for a few things. They have a shorter version of the domain name that they've use to use as the primary domain for a while. I found out well into the link building process that this domain actually already had about 700 backlinks. This page has very few pages indexed (maybe 11 pages) and I have this older domain 301'd to the new domain. My understanding is that with a 301 redirect most (but not all) of the link juice is transferred to the domain that it is redirected to. My question is, would it be more wise for me to change my primary domain to the one with more links and have the one thats already thoroughly index redirect to that or should I keep going the way I am. Thank you for reading!
