Which domain to continue to avoid Sandbox?

    Hello,

If you guys do not mind then can you please help me clarify some confusion. I know a domain which is existing before 2003, and that domain is fully indexed in G. I can buy this domain for a reasonable price. The owner of this domain does not want this site anymore.

My domain never existed before 2006. At present, my site is fully indexed and crawled regularly. The domain is PR4. I have backlinks coming in but I am hit by sandbox for my main keywords (rank around #150 or #200). The good thing at present is I have a long trail traffic coming in. But I really want to rank high for main keywords.

So now the question is, does it make sense for me to buy that "UNSANDBOXED" domain (an old domain existing before 2003) and shift my site to that domain or just simply keep on building the backlinks on current site. A wrong move could cause the loss of SE traffic to me. Please let me know.

    Thanks,

Keep you existing site. Plus, buy the new site and and setup another site similar, but not an exact copy, of your existing site. You wouldn't want a duplicate penalty.

If you sell blue widgets, there is nothing to stop you having many sites and domain names that sell your product. The more sites/pages you have in the search engines, the more chances of getting good position and traffic from them.

Oh, and you should have all your site(s) linking between them.

I find the innaccuracy of advice given both disturbing and sad.

sites do not automatically "get out" of the sandbox after waiting a period of time. there's a chance you'll be sandboxed forever.

you'll be out of the sandbox immediately if you move to a domain that's been in google since early 2003, and you'll never need to worry about things new domains have to worry about (too many links, etc).
