i currently use 1&1 internet for 2 of my domains and haven't had any issues with them i think for .co.uk the charge 5.48 and .com is 6.99 for the first yeaar then 8.99 i also have 2 registerd at namescheap cause they were pushed to me by a DP member
I use a lot of registrars Namecheap, Name.com, Dynadot, Moniker, Fabulous, Gandi, internet.bs, and Godaddy.
Preference for my domains lately has gone to namecheap. Though I do have about a third of my portfolio with 1&1, and a few with namecheap, and one with my first hosting I ever used
Sorry, but your post is a mess. You like namecheap for marketplace and use godaddy for .com and use name.com? It sounds like you like bread for pasta because butter is made of milk. Nonsense. Every tru domainer knows there are only 2 players in the industry. Godaddy and Namecheap. There are no better or worse between them and if there are some differences - they do not matter. You just use both of them to gain maximum benefits, that is all. "I registered a name with Namecheap during their promo and it cost me $8.67 (BTW, $7.54 is not a real domain price, because Verisign fee for .com domains is $8.27 currently; Godaddy forces you to pay another $5 for something else to cover the expenses - so this price is only a marketing trick). After I registered the name, I waited for 2 months and transferred it to Godaddy during promo, for $.99. In 2 more months I transferred it back to Namecheap during promo for another $.99. I did it 2 more times till the end of the year and the results were as follows: I had a name registered till 2023 and I spent only $15.65 on it. I sold it on Namecheap marketplace for $400." All above is just an example, domainers do things like that constantly and with hundreds of names. Therefore, the key is to catch the moment and transfer to another registrar in time in order to get extra renewal year during promo without actually paying for it. The whole other case is when you decide to start using the name for email service or to publish a website. In this case you do not go for lowest price and promos, you go for stable service, free features and qualified support easy to receive. Namecheap beats all the competition with that. Live chat is dozen times more productive than a phone call, because it allows sending written instructions and links to guides in knowledgebase, with detailed screenshot instructions. On the opposite, you have to seat pinned to the phone and wait listening to beep-beep-beep while operator tries to solve your request. Phone support is by far not the most important and most useful feature for domain operating company. By the way, didn't you all hear the story of February, when Godaddy support stole business from an owner and gave it to a fraudster? Try googling and you will discover many interesting facts about Godaddy.
yeah, secure giant took business from a legit owner and gave it to a fraudster, stole several accounts from their clients and regularly overcharges for nothing. They have dirt-bad phone support and their customer portal is a mess. Absolutely, the best choice.
Namecheap. I have used Godaddy in the past, but didn't like it. The client panel is a mess, it takes a long time to have a propagation done and god forbid you need support. Namecheap are more straightforward and I never had any issues with them in the past 6 years. Domain propagation is most of the time is very fast, too.
