Which domain name to choose?

    Hi guys,

I need some advice on choosing a domain name. Lets say I am starting a site about the city 'London'.

I have a few choices of domain -->

    yourlondon.com
    mylondon.com
    londononline.com

Which do you think is best? I am thinking 'mylondon.com' because it is personal and so people may remember it easier.

I am looking at this purely from a memory point of view, not SEO.

    Thanks for the replies.

well, we've got some property there which we will obviously be promoting via the site. but my idea was to create a site about the place in general. You know, the restaurants, the nightlife, the activities etc. etc.

So its a bit of both - information and vacations .... hmmmm

keep the votes coming and then i'll have a better idea.

    londononline if it's general.

mylondon if it's going to be interactive (like letting people write their own reviews of those nightlife activities, store their favorite shops, restaurants, clubs, etc.

Mylondon.com looks like a personal blog. Londononline.com seems more conventional and is more encompassing.

Try to be as creative as possible
Dot Com name can be very good - but if you are targeting the UK, then consider if you want to use a co.uk domain name

As an aside I would be very careful about putting a possible domain name on a forum post, because there could be people who might buy the domain name before you get chance to

You are absolutely right, there is a very popular UK website which operates under the concept My-AnyCity or My-Borough, but with .uk extension so I would go for your favorite ;)
