I am not going to reveal the actual name here...lets say it is ***. Please tell me which one is better? www.my***info.com www.free***info.com Thank you
Depends on the content and how the average user would search for your site. Are you giving something for free? Is it a personal service? If it is both go back to the first sentence.
It's hard to say, as some visitors will be attracted by free, but others may associate "free" with some catch.... so I'd lean towards www.my****
It really depends on the ****. If the site has info that is free, then free might be better, if the site is a service, then my would be better, but it really depends on the ****.
When I see a domain name with **FREE **, I always have a suspicion …I know it is depend on nature of the site but my impression was most people has a negative view about **FREE** domains. I guess I was wrong because most people suggested **FREE** over MY*** domain. Ok….what is the most successful website with a **FREE** domain name ? Is it anywhere near to myspace.com?
IMO I'll choose to make a domain shorter and will use an alternative url like free***.info or my***.info Shorter domains are no doubt more memorable and info domains are for information sites, So, that would help if your site is intended to be promoted from "word of mouth"
Well if the *** means Ass, I would choose freeass.info, because lets be honest, I don't like myass.info. Something about myass just isn't appealing. Although, nothing wrong with freeass. Sorry, I haven't used a potty joke in atleast... 10 minutes. In all honesty. It depends on the ***. How about you buy both, and then tell us what the domains are. $10x2 (=$20). That way we can vote, and you don't lose out on the domains by some sneaky punk buying them and trying to sell them to you. Mike
what about: secret, official, steal, get, your, best or use? without the context of the main word, site prefixes are so vague. in the case of trying to determine which is better (in this example), i think that you should try and think of the URL as a headline. It seems that you are commited to a longer URL already. So, it is important that a person could easily remember it and type it in. Another thing that shouldn't be overlooked is that you need to look at your trageted competition. If the sites that are similar to yours in spelling are also rather negatively positioned, then you don't want to be in that crowd. That alone might make up your mind between my and free. This would help to eliminate the potential of a person misspelling your name and landing in a bad place. An example; this happened to me when i tried to think of what a certain businesses domain name might be and i typed it in. Well, i ended up at a Nazi hate site instead of vcation resort. The vacation resort couldn't help that their name was already taken as a domain. but you can make sure that you stay out of "bad neighborhoods".
