Hi , I have 3 domains for my new website: windows7design.com windows7styles.net windows7skins.net I have ready .psd template , now it is coding... but i need to choose the best domain. It will provide walls, icons, themes, skins, styles for new Windows 7 operating system. What do you think ?
Because of the appeal of a .com, windows7design.com would be my 1st choice, but if you want to get a keyword into the domain name, then 'skins' might be the better option.

from my opinion windows7design.com windows7styles.net windows7skins.net the most important keywords are themes, styles, skins but .com is nicer, windows7design.com looks more professional the site will be pretty big and pro in first place i take windows7styles.net because i like 'styles' inside domain but now i look more pro to windows7design.com with this domain it will be harder but still i can do other SEO beside domain for themes, styles, skins and other keywords right ? tnx for every opinions
Well, persoanlly, I will choose the first one--windows7design.com! .com is till better than net I guess. Well, no absoulte difference in Google's eyes as the domain extension. But, as user, we are just more used to .com.
The first one is the best domain among the three Appeal of an .com website to visitors is far better compare to other TLDs.
i agree, ".com" has a more professional look to it and it is also best because people commonly believe that a domain name contains .com/ For example if you tell someone to open a website named "designs" the person will type designs.com in the url bar
IMO it depends on whether you want to rank primarily for "windows 7 design", "windows 7 styles", or "windows 7 skins". Keywords in domain names typically only give you an inherent ranking boost if it's an exact match for the user's search phrase. Partial matches don't really carry much if any more weight than having some of the keywords from the search phrase in the folder or page names of the URL. So I would go after the one that gets the most traffic, is most competitlve, is the most likely keyword phrase someone would use who is looking for services you provide, and best describes the theme of your site. Having an exact match domain for a highly competitive keyword phrase is valuable. And I would always go w/ a .com TLD. Though it doesn't help you with your rankings, having a .com TLD without hyphens in the URL makes your domain seem more legitimate in the eyes of most consumers. This can increase your click-thru-rates when your site finally does rank for its targeted keywords. And it can also increase the likelihood that other webmasters will see your site as more legitimate and want to link to you. It's much more likely that other webmasters will explore your site and link to it if it's named windows7design.com instead of my-windows7-design-123.biz.
@ Canonical tnx for good tips situation is like this as i know domains for example with .org and good keywords are very good but here i want to build a bit pro website and this .com is nice name but i want to go for example windows7 themes, styles, skins, -> those will be my keywords but i can do seo also for keywords on site, not only in domain i hope so, i hope i can give good placement in google for that keyword using this .com domain: windows7design tnx
