Which domain would be better for SEO? If the keywords was: "Leaves and Trees" www.leavesandtrees.cn OR www.leaves-andtrees.cn Of course the 2nd domain is hard to remember, but the first one has an extension for China. Which one would fair out better in search engines?
well, i'll go with leavesandtrees.cn too, its perfect even if from a SEO point of view they are the same.. 6 months ago there was a google update and now keyword1-keyword2.com or keyword1keyword2.com are exactly the same thing.. the "-" is not considered as "space" anymore. a lot of domains using "-" at the time lost their rankings because of this update.
So the .cn (china location.. even though the topic is canadian) wouldn't effect serps? It works better in a marketing point of view
it will.. you well get better results when someone search your keywords from china, actually if you target the global market, then its better to choose other global LTDS .com, .net, .info and .biz. but i already saw ".to" domains ranking very good at a global level. (from all countries) so may be its not a big deal if you work hard on the link building. example: try searching this very competitive keyword "Free Wallpapers". number 1 is a .to domain, try also search for "britney spears" number 8 is a .ac domain..
Oh makes sense thank you. I will test that out. So if my domain receives a lot of traffic from the states, I should get a .US extension if possible? In response to the .ca... because it's taken
I'd go with first one. 2nd one is in fact hard to remember, and so you may lose direct traffic going to it, and SEO-wise, a site with better site popularity will fare better overall in the listings.
