    Go for .ORG or .US. Never get .INFO... The majority of spam sites are .INFO's.

    i think they're like this: .com => .net => .org => .us => .co.uk => .info ... and the rest doesn't matter at all.

    The majority of spam sites are .INFO's. :confused:

    there's nothing wrong with .infos from google's point of view as for the regular user, it's the same as .net or .org!

    Minterest, i would go with .org or .info!

    Thanks guys... but Will they consider my site as SPAM if I didnt do anything wrong? Oh thats crazy... Actually its a content site.... which is useful for international users too....

    If we consider relevency... then I like .INFO... And in my opinion... Its SPAMMING if we use a .ORG for a content site as that domain is suppposed to be used by organizations... Correct me if am wrong.. still waiting for more suggessions.......

    For normal users, there won't think .info has any wrong as long as there can find information. For webmaster, there think .info is spamming site because .info always in cheap price and so a lot of spammer and proxy site owner used it. For me, first I'll consider .com => .net => .info then cctld...

    If you ask me, go for .com-->.net-->.org-->.info.
    .info is not that bad imo

    Before you register the .org, .info or .us, it doesn't hurt to email the .com and .net owner and see if they'd be interested to sell the name to you.

    If the domains are not developed, chances are they'd be willing to sell the domains.

    You could check the expiry dates of the domains to see if they are nearing expiry. They may not want to renew the domains. And you can use a dropcatcher to backorder the domain.

    Then email the .com and .net owner to see how much they are asking for the domains. It doesn't cost you any money to know this.

    Do a whois check on the .com to get the email.

    The .net, maybe you can submit an offer via the parking page if they have a "This domain is for sale" link.

    If it's an informational site, I'd go with .info as the extention suits it perfectly. As to a spam site, there are many .info sites out there that aren't spam ones.

    My 2nd choice after that would be .org, then the 3rd choice as a .us, if you are allowed to register it that is

    Foget about .us.com as it's a subdomain that they are selling you, & it sucks. Foget about .biz because they suck as well, & don't suit what you are wanting to go.
