Which domain extention do you prefer for directory

I prefer to .com extention for directory, if there was no .com I would use .org.

I think .com domains make the site professional, .org make the directory look like a socially organization like dmoz.org.

And what's your favorite domain extentions? ;)

I will have to agree with you here ;)
.Com is just Perfect, then comes .Org and if you can't get that as well, try .Net.

I personally don't like .info for directory.

actually these extensions are just what we are used to right? I think in 5-10 years, it will not matter as much whether it is .com or not.

Obviously .com should always be the first choice, but If I can't get the name I want in the .com extension then everything else it's just fine :) When it comes to directories I think the extension is not so important...even if you have a country tld and promote your directory well, then it will be on all the directories lists and people will remember it regardless of your extension

I just said that if your desired name is available in .com extension then you should go and get it, if not any other extension is good...

I prefer .com for all sites, i was about to buy .info for a few sites earlier this year, but after speaking to some people here i realised i would not be saving on the price in the long run and also that .com was most recognised.

Also i believe that if a .com is already taken for what i want that it is better to come up with a fresh name rather than but the other extensions.

Unless of course i want to but a few extentions for a name to secure them.

But in a nutshell, i like and prefer to purchase .com

For my first directory i took .nl (Netherlands) when i wanted a international directory, i took a .info. Cause I wasn't sure it was going to have succes. And .info only costs 1.98 dollar at namecheap.

For socially websites, I feel .org is good enough, I have a few sites using .org extention. There are many good quality sites like w3.org, wordpress.org, creativecommons.org, etc. :)

I think a free web directory could consider .org for its domain. ;)

    My favorite is .com TLD.

I tried .biz for one business directory over here Tela Business Directory and it is going smooth.

    Thanks.
